About Mitch Deck
Mitch is the Policy and Research Coordinator at HOME Cincy, and a recent graduate of the University of Cincinnati College of Law, cum laude. They recently spent 8-months as a Legal Intern with the Democracy Division of the ACLU's National Political Advocacy Department. Mitch has earned multiple awards in recognition of outstanding academic performance in law school, including the Henry A. Morrill Constitutional Law II Prize and CALI Awards for receiving the highest grades in Constitutional Law II, Election Law, Legislation & Statutory Interpretation, and Computer Crime Law. Previously, Mitch worked as a Litigation Fellow with the Ohio Innocence Project to free wrongfully incarcerated Ohioans. Prior to law school, Mitch graduated summa cum laude from the University of Cincinnati with their B.A. in Political Science. Mitch is a member of the national honor societies Phi Beta Kappa and Pi Sigma Alpha. Mitch is committed to building a more equitable society from the ground up. In 2020, Mitch was the campaign manager for Morgan Showen's campaign in Ohio Statehouse District 54. Mitch led a young diverse campaign staff through the ever-evolving challenges of campaigning during a global pandemic. The campaign raised over in contributions and received more votes than any Democratic challenger in district history. Beyond campaign politics, Mitch's work focuses on understanding and addressing structural problems in the American political and legal systems. Mitch is passionate about demystifying the complex and interrelated problems we deal with every day.
