About Mitch Helsel

I am a mechanical engineering student in limbo, attempting to return to college at Ferris State University to finish my Bachelors. I have been spending time and resources recently to enhance my knowledge of engineering with self initiated projects. Small projects taken on include learning to program, use PLCs, and prototype electrical circuits with Arduino, self-learning FreeCAD as part design, machining path creation, and FEA modeling, and taking LinkedIn Learning courses in Python and Matlab. I am currently in the research phase of a self-initiated agricultural sprayer re-design and possible remanufacture under said design. The project goal to have gone through an entire design life cycle including a patent and bring the design to market using skills I've learned myself, through college, and through work experience.
