Metrology/Quality professional with 49 years experience in the Quality System industry. I have demonstrated a successful track record in solving metrology and quality problems. I am a self-starter who is detail oriented with the ability to work effectively with others. My strong commitment for continuous improvement has allowed me to be an innovative thinker with proven results, developing new ways of working. The ability to learn quickly and efficiently allows me to apply and develop new skill sets. Mitch Johnson began his Metrology career 49 years ago after graduating in 1973 from Dunwoody Industrial Institute of Minnesota with a Computer Science degree and completed his Physics degree in 2002. During this time Mitch has worked in all fields of Metrology. Mitch started in the calibration field as a bench tech and expanded his vocations to include QA Engineer, Quality Manager and Senior Metrologist. Mitch has enjoyed his time as a Quality and Metrology consultant (10 years’ experience) and teaching and development of QA/Metrology training classes. Most noticeably his endeavors have been in the fields of medical research, electronics manufacturing, and automotive manufacturing. He chaired the NCSLI Healthcare Metrology Committee for 3 years from 1996 thru 1998. Co-authored 2nd and 3rd editions of National Calibration Standards Laboratories International RP 6: Calibration Control Systems for the Biomedical and Pharmaceutical Industry He has served on 5 committees for International Metrology Standards. Mitch has spent 5 years as a member of local NCSLI Management Steering Committee (1311 Twin Cities) and has written and presented 4 papers at NCSLI symposiums. Mitch is currently Sr. Metrologist/ Quality Engineer for Johnson Enterprises a consulting company solving calibration, measurement, and quality problems with least restrictive and low-cost solutions. Mitch has been very active in his community. He has 14 years of experience serving on a local school board advisory committee, with 4 years of being the chairman for said committee. Mitch was a co-founder of the Minnesota Downs Syndrome 40 years ago. The organization now covers all of Minnesota and parts of the surrounding states. He has been involved as a Special Olympics coach for 30 years in 7 sports. A family man, married to Barb for 49 years, he has raised 3 children. He has a broad range of hobbies which include reading, chess, cross country skiing, fishing, boating, golf, singing in his church choir, community theater, and an incessant need to fix anything.
