About Mitch Klein

I’m an experienced civil engineer and project manager with a background in designing water, wastewater and stormwater solutions for local government agencies. I specialize in pump station design, gravity and pressure sanitary piping design, water main design, trenchless technology assessment, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, utility coordination, overview of construction documents, and data collection and assessment. I began my career after earning a master’s in civil engineering from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Since then, I’ve gained extensive experience in both traditional and alternative project delivery methods. Driven by my commitment to make our clients successful, I look for solutions to improve clients’ day-to-day problems by designing projects and developing processes and work-flows to streamline their systems. Some of the projects I’m most proud of include emergency flood response work, Sanitary force main replacement, and trenchless applications for the City of Omaha, designing a Pump Station and forcemain through a design-build delivery method for the City of Edgerton, and designing a separate storm sewer system as part of the Target Green East Marlborough Project for the City of Kansas City, Missouri. I’m passionate about advancing our industry, and I regularly present on technical topics like green infrastructure and BMP monitoring, among others. In addition to being a licensed professional engineer and an Envision Sustainabilty Professional, I’m also proficient in multiple design and modeling software packages including HEC-RAS, InfoWorks, XPSWMM, AutoCAD, Civil 3D and ArcGIS.
