About Mitch Leblanc

Hello, my name is Mitchell LeBlanc and I am currently a senior at Michigan State University, majoring in Mechanical Engineering. I will be graduating at the end of the fall semester of this year (2021), and I am eager to start my career as an innovator! Mechanical engineering has always been a passion of mine since a very young age. As a young child, I would spend countless hours experimenting with building Lego roller coasters. My parents would also give me old electronic devices (such as old tape recorders and land line telephones) and allow me take them apart just to figure out how they worked. Further, I used to look forward to “camp invention” each summer, where I was given opportunities to use discarded household items and construct something useful out of them. I feel that these childhood experiences were the beginnings of my love for all things engineering. During my time at Michigan State University (MSU) I have gained a great deal of valuable engineering experience. I have held three internship positions, in both manufacturing and research and development fields, which gave me the opportunity to sharpen my hands-on skills, design capabilities, and lab testing procedures. Working for three different companies during my time as an intern has provided me with exposure to various companies and opportunities to learn how engineering works in workplace environments. Overall, I am a young professional with a strong work ethic who consistently seeks to grow with a company in order to make a positive societal impact in the field of mechanical engineering. I have been told that collaborating with a team to achieve common goals is one of my best attributes. Further, I consider myself to be a “people person” and I enjoy problem solving with others. I strive to be a mechanical engineer who will not only work diligently as an independent employee; but also, one who will help others to be successful at achieving common goals as well.
