About Mitch McPhilomy

Mitch McPhilomy is originally from Colorado and aspires to be a third generation superintendent. He got his start working on a public golf course in Colorado during high school. After two summers working there he went to work with his uncle in northern Idaho, at which point he decided to enroll into Penn State's Turfgrass Management Program. Now he is currently enrolled in Penn States Program and is expecting to graduate in March of 2012. He has worked on five courses in the past seven years working throughout the country, and has had the opportunity of managing both warm and cool season grasses. His experience in the turfgrass industry along with his desire to learn will undoubtedly excel him through this industry. Upon graduation he hopes to find an assistant superintendent position or perhaps an irrigation technicians position in Colorado. One of his long term goals is to excel in Colorado's turfgrass industry and to eventually manage a high profile golf course there.
