About Mitchell Cassee

At a young age, my family moved to Atlanta GA in the US from the Netherlands. After 13 years, I made the decision to pursue my higher education at Hotelschool the Hague in Amsterdam. Having had the privilege to develop in two separate countries and attend an international school, has broadened my viewpoints and understanding of different cultures. This has lead to an inherent enjoyment in experiencing new cultures and subsequently traveling on a global scale. That is why I chose to pursue my internship for Hotelschool in a different country (Spain), at a 5-star hotel called Hospes Palau de la Mar. In 2017, my father made a decision with a business partner to open a restaurant and bar in Amsterdam called aMusée. Before the restaurant opened in December of 2018, my dad unexpectedly passed away. As aMusée started to crumble and fall into debt, I attempted to help pick up the pieces and continue on in his legacy. Ultimately working as management in daily operations and investments. Although an extremely stressful and costly endeavour, it was one that provided an invaluable learning experience regarding operational and financial management. Unfortunately due to the events of COVID-19, aMusée had to permanently close its doors. Even though the last few years of my life have brought an immense amount of stress and sadness, they came with experiences that molded me into who I am. I like to believe they made me into a more insightful, understanding, and knowledgeable person. If anything, it has made me realise that I want to find fulfilment and enjoyment through all aspects of life!
