About Mitchell Ianiero

As a Master's of Science student with a focus on nutrition, I am beginning to appreciate the intricate relationship between diet and oral health (including the jaw bone) and how both of these factors have a strong influence on cardiovascular and overall health. In turn, I have become passionate about developing and sharing knowledge mobilization deliverables (articles, infographics, module presentations) to inform the public on the best nutritional strategies to incorporate into every day life to support oral health and overall health. These resources are being shared online, and in dental offices locally and across Canada.As an aspiring physician, I desire to use the skills and knowledge obtained from my graduate studies to inform patients on evidence-based nutrition practices that can help reduce the risk of chronic diseases including periodontal disease, osteoporosis, and cardiovascular disease. I also desire to apply my passion for health education (from my role as a teaching assistant for human anatomy) and my extensive training in working with youth with disabilities in a health setting as a physician.
