About Mitchell Katz

I have over three decades of experience representing clients in complex commercial litigation matters pending in state and federal courts and before arbitration tribunals. I concentrate my legal practice on litigation arising out of financial transactions including loans and secured transactions, and commercial contracts such as operating agreements, management agreements, real estate contracts, development agreements, joint venture agreements, non-competition, non-solicitation, and confidentiality agreements. When it comes to serving my clients, I am a dedicated problem solver who uses prior litigation and trial experience to help them negotiate complex corporate issues. I also pride myself in being mindful of the cost-benefit analysis that businesses must confront when making decisions concerning commercial disputes. Outside the firm, I am a past President of the Northern District of New York Federal Court Bar Association and a former Chair of the Commercial and Federal Litigation Section of the New York State Bar Association. Additionally, as a former Volunteer Lawyers Project of Onondaga County, Inc. Board of Directors member, a longtime Habitat for Humanity supporter, and a former Syracuse Habitat for Humanity Board president, I am committed to serving underprivileged members of our community by providing access to resources and tools to help them overcome poverty.
