About Mitchell Kevett

I am a third year Juris Doctor candidate at Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where I served as a Staff Editor for the Cardozo Journal of Equal Rights and Social Justice and am honored to be a Dean’s Merit Scholarship recipient. My academic journey began at Rutgers State University, where I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science, achieving the top class rank among over students. At Christie’s, I am set to extern with the Global Intellectual Property and Corporate Counsel team, working on complex issues like third-party image rights and artist clearances. My previous role as a Legal Intern at Abbey Green Law involved corporate compliance for nonprofit arts organizations and drafting key legal documents, and legal research. Additionally, my work as a Legal Clinic Intern with the Innocence Project provided me with hands-on experience in postconviction cases, where I conducted legal research, drafted memos, supported investigations, and met with clients one-on-one on a regular basis. Beyond the legal field, I have a strong background in project management and public history. As a Strategic Growth Coordinator at the Middlesex County Arts Institute, I led initiatives to promote inclusivity in historical narratives, managed a public collections database, and oversaw a substantial budget for historical preservation efforts. My multifaceted experience underscores my commitment to leveraging legal expertise in the service of the arts, culture, and social justice.
