About Mitchell McCrory

I have recently graduated from the University of Waterloo, with an Honours Co-op Degree in Geography and Environmental Management, with a Specialization in Earth's Systems Science, as well as received a postgraduate degree in Ecosystems Restoration at Niagara College. I have been fortunate enough to complement the theoretical and research-based knowledge, with hands-on, applicable knowledge that I have obtained through my time at both the University of Waterloo and Niagara College. The honours coop program in which I was enrolled in at the University of Waterloo allowed me to gain entry-level experiences in working in the field of environmental field/lab work, community outreach, outdoor education, and in outdoor maintenance. Furthermore, the Ecosystems Restoration program at Niagara College allowed me to gain hands-on knowledge and experience in confidently identifying various flora/fauna species, performing various chemical and biological sampling techniques to determine water quality, strategies in invasive species management, performing various ecological engineering (LID) techniques, data analysis, mapping using QGIS, and in professional communication within the environmental sector. Furthermore, my experiences in outdoor education, community outreach, maintenance, and customer service have provided me with excellent time-management, communication, problem-solving, and leadership skills. I also have no concerns with working as part of a team or in an individual setting, carrying heavy objects, using or operating various power tools/equipment, and in remaining professional when engaging with the public.
