Trained as a pediatrician and involved in Community Medicine, Dr. Rubin has worked as a clinician, teacher and physician executive in the private, public, and not-for-profit sectors. He has experience in Managed Care, Graduate Medical Education, and quality improvement in primary care settings. Among his prior appointments, Dr. Rubin worked for NYC’s Health and Hospitals Corporation as Director of Community Medicine, Medical Director at Graham Windham Welfare Agency,and Medical Director at EmblemHealth, New York, NY. Currently he serves as Consultant for Practice Transformation at Care for the Homeless and Chief Medical Officer at EverCare Health Plan. Dr. Rubin received his bachelor’s degree from Cornell University and his medical degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, and trained in pediatrics at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital in New York City. He has held adjunct and clinical faculty appointments at several prominent academic and medical institutions. Dr. Rubin has collaborated on grant-funded studies focused on issues of primary care for vulnerable populations, and has published articles in Journal of Health Care for the Poor and Underserved, Diversity in Health and Care, Journal of Medical Ethics, and Journal of Asthma.
