About Mitchell Young

Mitchell Young is a Registered Architect currently working for W.I.M Architects, a small architectural practice based in Brisbane, Queensland. Graduating from the Queensland University of Technology in 2011 with a Bachelor of Architecture First Class Honours, Mitchell progressed onto his Master of Architecture in 2012. At the completion of this course, he was selected for the RAIA ‘Glenn Murcutt BlueScope Steel Student Prize’ and Shortlisted as a National Finalist. In addition to this prestigious prize Mitchell has accumulated various University based awards including the ‘Jane Grealy Award for Best Architectural Illustration 2009, Jim Woolley Award for Best Environmental Design 2009 and 2012 and the Armstrong Architecture Award for Best Architectural Student Graduating from the Bachelor’s Degree in 2011. Mitchell’s professional experience dates back to 2009 where he was employed as a Student Architect for IRP Architects. This provided Mitchell with a base knowledge in the profession whilst developing Residential / Small Commercial experiences. Since 2010 Mitchell has been employed by W.I.M Architects where he has grown and experienced all facets of the Architectural Profession from Initial Design Phases to Documentation and Contract Administration on projects ranging from small scale Residential to Larger Commercial, Automotive and Educational works.
