About Mitra Lebuhn

My favorite responsibility as an impact communications professional is orchestrating advocacy campaigns and crafting impact stories for mission-driven companies, helping them use their platforms to actualize change. Happy to be doing that (and much more) in my present role, leading PR, social impact programming, and partnerships at Symba, a women-founded tech startup on a mission to open up the workforce by redesigning internships. My passion for increasing access to jobs and wealth creation sparked while working at Lane Community College as a Success Coach. After LCC, I spent a year and a half solo-traveling through 11 countries across Asia and Oceania. During that time I volunteered and worked in Thailand, Laos, Vietnam, and Australia, contributing to music event production, hospitality, farming, and scuba diving industries. In March 2020, I returned to the United States with a better perspective of global inequity, and began my journey with Symba. Outside of work I channel my creative energy into songwriting, wearable art, and outdoor adventures. My academic history ~ Graduate of the University of Oregon Clark Honors College with a B.A. in International Studies (Specialized in Global Health, French, and Africa) with minors in African Studies & Music. Author of 2 published thesis projects. 2 internships. 7 months of study abroad and research experience in Switzerland, Morocco, and Ghana.
