About Miya Takeuchi

I am a Hillsdale High School senior passionate about STEM, especially physics and calculus. I am a hardworking, curious, energetic, and persistent person who has loved engineering since I was little. I am proficient in Python, CAD, and machining equipment (CNC, 3D Printers, Laser-cutting, etc.), and am a quick learner. I am a future engineer eager to make the world a better place by using engineering principles to make basic needs more accessible. Looking for internships/opportunities related to Mechanical Engineering. At Hillsdale, I am on the leadership board of my club Hillsdale Effect where we have contributed to raising over for micro-loans and business education for women in Guatemala. I am also the Co-Founder and Co-President of Girls Who Code as well as a mechanical engineer for the Iron Panthers FRC team #5026. I played Varsity basketball until I was unable to continue after five concussions in two years. I am deeply involved with community service as I have been the Vice President and Secretary of Key Club, tutored for Peninsula Bridge, and I currently freelance tutor my peers. Innovation is a pillar in my life, and through research, design teams, and clubs, I will continue to innovate. I want to further my love and passion for motorsports by joining an FSAE team in college. I am also very passionate about the environment. Through research on thermodynamics and heat transfer of combustion engines, I believe motorsports and clean energy can be synonymous. Ultimately I want to be a motorsports engineer.
