About Mo Ollenburger

I love learning from farmers and telling stories with data. I ask questions or identify problems, and then go find or create the data I need to solve them. I've worked with remote sensing and geospatial data, survey data, qualitative data, and large poorly-documented databases. I've managed field trials in rural West African villages, and designed web apps to map sustainability indicators based on results of global integrated assessment models. I'll do your cluster analysis but I might also tell you fancy math won't help if you're asking the wrong questions. My experience ranges from conversations with smallholder farmers to global bio-economic models, and I've lived on 4 continents in the last 15 years. I'm good at learning on the fly, whether that's learning a new programming language or a couple of new human ones. And I'm used to dealing with the unexpected - from supply shortages to power outages to coups d'etat.
