About Mohamed Chaabane

With more than 15 years of professional experience mainly around Capital Markets, I have evolved in various positions and acquired multiple skills. I was part of a project between EDF R&D and Sintef Energy Research in Norway, where I worked for 2 months. That was back in 2004. After this I was enrolled for a 1-year internship at BNP Paribas on the Arbitrage part, where I dealt with ADRs and arbitrage opportunities on stocks and indices. I started my most significant professional experience at Calyon in March 06. I traded on most of the European markets with a focus on the Dutch, the Belgian, Spanish and the British equities. My main tasks were quoting markets (both ways) for clients. I had also some proprietary strategies on volatility arbitrage. I traded vanilla and semi-vanilla products such as Variance swaps. I joined Murex in February 2009. I was enrolled to help in the design of a Back Office for securities. I started my career in Murex gathering all the functional and technical knowledge required to be proficient on the MX.3 platform and I specified some developments on BO for Securities. After this, I co-managed the first implementation of the Back Office for Securities module at a Swedish Client site (Corporate Actions, Fungible products inventories and accounting, Nostro modules). This experience was highly rewarding for me and allowed me to touch base on the different practical aspects of a Business Analyst role. My work in this project was highly appreciated, references are available upon request on this. Since January 2011, I am part of the Presales team as a Senior Consultant. This allowed me to acquire significant skills in presenting the MX.3 platform in a Global Operations platform perspective, develop my knowledge of the platform on all asset classes and learn more about fields such as the Hedge Accounting. Starting January 2017, I evolved to a Senior Presales role and gained more depth on cross-functions topics such as Collateral, Security Finance and Treasury. I lead complex workshops with prospects across functions and have a global Front to Back to Risk view and exposure on client requests and MX.3 capabilities. The Senior Presales role demands leadership skills to drive a team of consultants in the opportunity delivery, and high communication and analytical skills.
