About Mohamed Tash

I am a sustainability professional with over 22 years of experience helping organisations improve their heath, safety, quality, environmental and energy performance. As Energy Efficiency Manager at GASCO Egypt, I lead initiatives to reduce energy usage, lower carbon emissions and increase sustainability across operations, and ensuring the implementation of ISO requirements. I also develop energy efficiency strategies, policies and programs; identifies opportunities for improving efficiency, increasing renewable energy in the energy mix and green building design; and ensures compliance with environmental regulations. Previously, I served as Environmental Department Manager, responsible for establishing the environmental impact assessment studies for the new projects, applying solutions of pollution prevention, implementing ISO 14001 certification and managing sustainability reporting, auditing, policy development and stakeholder engagement. In addition, I have worked as a Health & Safety Specialist, conducting risk assessments, training employees and contractors, and advising on regulatory issues. I am passionately committed to sustainable development and environmental protection. I hold degrees in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, and Project Management. Moreover, I am the author of “Sustainable development, the past, the present and the future ”, a book in Arabic guiding readers through the basics of sustainability, sustainable living and greener business practices. Outside of work, I volunteer with local environmental non-profits and speaks at events on topics like green buildings, renewable energy and sustainable supply chain management. I believe that transforming our society and economy to be more sustainable and equitable is crucial for future generations.
