About Mohammad Aleisa

Through my current work, my role as a Senior health and nutrition officer has evolved from supporting the health system and the needs of Syrians in north Syria and neighboring countries to representing the organization in multiple coordination and technical bodies including health cluster and the technical working groups. Moreover, I am responsible for the technical part of the COVID-19 response including case management, infection prevention and control (IPC) and risk communication and community engagement (RCCE). I was selected to be the co-lead for the case management pillar in the Northwest Syria (NWS) COVID-19 task force. Through this role I coordinated the response to the COVID-19 outbreak including the design of COVID-19 designated hospitals, drafting and developing all the required protocols and guidelines (triage protocol, patient pathway protocol, isolation areas’ design, COVID-19 suspected/confirmed patients’ admission criteria and recently the Mucormycosis treatment guideline). Following the global and clusters' standards and issuing recommendations to tackle COVID-19 required in depth knowledge of data handling and related statistical approaches. Moreover, when I was working for Orient for human relief, I was elected to be a member of the strategic advisory group (SAG) of the Syria cross border nutrition cluster.
