About Mohammad Chowdhuri

I am a strategic leader passionate about advancing oil and gas recovery and clean energy innovation. With over 15 years of experience, I currently serve as a Technology Lead at Alberta Innovates, managing projects funded by both Alberta Innovates and Emission Reduction Alberta (ERA). Together, these portfolios exceed $150 million and focus on clean and efficient recovery processes, CCUS, hydrogen, and net-zero strategies. My journey started with a PhD in Mechanical Engineering, where I built a strong technical foundation in materials and mechanical systems. Since then, I have combined this expertise with hands-on reservoir engineering, project management (PMP certified), and collaboration across industry, government, and academia. What drives me most is working at the crossroads of engineering and strategy—helping bring innovative technologies from concept to real-world impact. I am proud to support Alberta’s transition to a lower-carbon economy by developing solutions that reduce emissions, create economic value, and open up new opportunities for the energy sector. Beyond projects and numbers, I believe that strong relationships and clear communication are what make innovation succeed.
