About Mohammad Huq

I am an experienced and highly motivated researcher with a strong passion for advancing the field of analytical chemistry. I hold a PhD in Analytical Chemistry from the University of Waterloo, where I developed extensive expertise in innovative sample preparation techniques, particularly solid-phase microextraction (SPME), and advanced analytical tools for characterizing both small and large molecules. SPME techniques enable selective and efficient extraction of target analytes from complex biological matrices, using minimal sample volume and reducing experimental time through seamless integration with analytical instruments for characterization. During my PhD, my research focused on designing and optimizing SPME-based methods for the selective extraction of target analytes from challenging matrices such as tissue and plasma. I also developed computational models using COMSOL Multiphysics software to simulate and demonstrate the mass transfer kinetics of analytes between complex biological matrices and the extraction phase, providing valuable insights into the underlying mechanisms of SPME. Currently, I am working as an Analytical Scientist at Pharma Inventor Inc, a Vancouver-based contract research organization. In this role, I lead diverse analytical projects, specializing in method development and validation for the separation and characterization of target analytes using cutting-edge analytical tools. My work contributes to the advancement of pharmaceutical research and development, ensuring precision, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards. I am deeply committed to leveraging my expertise in SPME, analytical method development, and computational modeling to solve complex challenges in analytical chemistry.
