About Mohammad M. Baniode

I am a digital health leader with over 17 years of experience in designing and implementing health information systems (HIS) across the MENA region. As the Lead of HISP MENA, part of the HISP Center Network - University of Oslo, I oversee the design, implementation, and governance of DHIS2 in Ministries of Health, driving capacity building, data system strengthening, and digital transformation. Currently pursuing a PhD in Public Health, my expertise spans health policy, project management, epidemiology, and public health interventions. Previously, I served for 10 years as a Health Systems Officer at WHO, leading national digital health initiatives. I have spearheaded the implementation of Electronic Medical Records (EMRs) in public hospitals and primary healthcare facilities, along with key national health registries, including the mother and Child Health Registry, Road Traffic Accidents Registry, Mammography Registry, and the Family Health File, a unified electronic health record. Passionate about data-driven decision-making, I focus on leveraging digital health innovations to enhance health service quality, coverage, and governance across the region.
