About Mohammad Rezaee

Mohammad Rezaee is Centennial Early Career Development Professor of Mining Engineering in the Department of Energy and Mineral Engineering at The Pennsylvania State University. His research experiences include the extraction of critical elements from primary and secondary sources, recycling, extractive metallurgy, and environmental management. Prior to his current position, he served as a postdoctoral research associate at Virginia Tech. He holds Ph.D. and M.Sc. degrees in mining engineering from the University of Kentucky and a B.Sc. degree in mining engineering from Amirkabir University of Technology, Iran. He has two years of industrial experience as a mining engineer consultant. His research addresses the development of sustainable mining waste disposal practices from which valuables such as critical elements can be recovered for commercial use, while the remaining materials are processed to generate environmentally benign materials.
