Background
About Mohammed Alziadeh
I am an R&D Scientist at Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL). I have 9+ years of research experience in experimental fluid mechanics, aeroacoustics, fluid-sound-structure interaction, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), finite element analysis (FEA), noise and vibration control. As a part of my research studies I have published many research articles in reputable peer-reviewed scientific journals and conference proceedings. I have also had the privilege of presenting at several national and international conferences. Some of my research experience has impacted industry directly. During my undergraduate studies I took part in an NSERC funded project to experimentally and numerically evaluate the vibrational behavior of aircraft seats. This project involved a major reputable aerospace manufacturer. I also took part in another NSERC research project directly impacting the nuclear power industry. This project involved the experimental evaluation and suppression of pressure pulsations in piping systems. During my PhD studies I participated in a collaborative study with high-tech industry component supplier Curtiss-Wright Nuclear Canada (CWNC) to improve seismic qualification for the nuclear industry. As part of the testing group we evaluated over-testing behavior of a seismic table by performing rigorous experimental vibration and acoustic measurements. I also have 7+ years of teaching experience as laboratory instructor and teaching assistant in a broad range of engineering subjects, such as kinematics and dynamics of machines and mechanical vibrations. I have been the proud recipient of multiple academic scholarships and awards. I was the recipient of some of these awards consecutively over a span of 6 years. Some of these awards recognized excellence in research, including the Outstanding Thesis Award university wide for my Master's thesis.
