About Mohammed Arsath Ali

Assistant Professor of Economics at Jamal Mohamed College, Tiruchirappalli, specializing in Public Finance and Economics of Growth and Development. I teach both undergraduate and postgraduate students, blending rigorous economic theory with practical insights relevant to emerging economies. Currently pursuing a Ph.D. titled “Unraveling the Intention to Use Digital Payment Systems at Organized Textile Stores,” with a focus on understanding behavioral drivers behind consumers’ shift away from cash payments towards digital alternatives such as cards, wallets and UPI at points of sale. My interdisciplinary research interests span fiscal policy, taxation, behavioral economics and the digital transformation of financial systems in developing markets. Passionate about fostering multinational and transnational research collaborations, I aim to contribute to innovative, evidence-based policymaking supporting inclusive and tech-driven economic growth.
