I am a game researcher passionate about understanding players and designing meaningful play experiences. Currently, I am completing a PhD at LUT University (Finland) focused on enhancing esports ecosystems in the MENA region, while contributing to the SIA Lab’s projects on inclusion, innovation, and the Finnish game industry. My background includes a PhD in gamification (Helwan University, Egypt) and have 10+ years of experience in instructional design, digital learning, and gamification across academia, industry, and government. My work has been recognized internationally, including being shortlisted for the “Outstanding Gamification Research” award at Gamification Europe. My research interests include esports, player research, gamification design, game accessibility, and the intersection of games with emerging technologies like AI, VR, and AR. I combine rigorous research methods with a human-centered design mindset to deliver actionable insights for the games industry. I thrive on cross-cultural collaboration, creative problem solving, and using research to drive innovation. I aim to bridge the gap between research and industry, driving innovation that enhances player experiences, supports data-informed design decisions, and contributes to sustainable growth in global game ecosystems.
