Trying to be the change I want to see in the world. I started working 3 days after my 16th birthday and all these years later I somehow ended up in the Financial Services Industry. It’s been one hell of a journey navigating my way through higher education and part time work, to trying to figure out a career over the last decade. There have always been two constants for me: 1 - Helping people; whatever shape or form that may take 2 - Figuring things out; analysing, assessing, peeling back the layers I guess that’s what led me to the arena of Compliance and Risk. An ever-evolving field with a vast array of nuances and complexities. Working in FinCrime and AML allows me to achieve multiple objectives that are hopefully of a wider benefit. By applying my crazy analytical brain to this task I get to protect good clients, protect financial institutions, and hopefully help towards the protection of economies (I hope). One of the ways I accomplish this is by working in collaboration with the people around me. Through providing them with coaching, training, advice, guidance and support, together we’re able to fulfil our roles to the highest standards. It also doesn’t hurt that I get to look after them, be there for them, and help them reach their full potential and smash expectations. There’s nothing better than watching the people around you succeed and reach heights they previously thought unreachable. I am the man that I am today because of my faith and my parents. Anything good about me should be attributed to them. They are my gravity, my lighthouse, my true-north. If there’s anything I can do to help any of you out there, don’t hesitate to reach out.
