Three topics are mostly known as conversation starters with strangers - Traffic, Sports, and Weather. Traffic is a daily topic among commuters and what I do professionally is track and improve transportation throughout the City of Seattle in real-time using the latest technologies and resources. I’m an analytical and critical thinker, no coincidence why I chose Industrial Engineering! The concepts I learned in IE helps me not only professionally but in my day to day life. My college Professor used to say, “A Lazy Engineer is a Good Engineer.” Laziness in my language is optimizing the process and achieving maximum efficiency. That’s what makes me a strategic planner and decision maker. Going back to the other two conversation starters, I’ve always had a passion for sports since childhood and even worked once as a TV Sports Reporter. When it comes to weather, I’m just like the average person but not sure if the elective Atmospheric Science class I took in college will add to the conversation.
