About Mohit Shukla

The challenges in Healthcare are usually multi-faceted and dynamic, but the underlying question is always fascinating. The solutions can range from the simplest changes to most fundamental redesigns, but they always need a team unified under a singular goal - to improve the experience and lives of the patients we serve. As a Quality Management Engineer at MaineHealth, I have had both the opportunity to tackle fascinating questions as well as the privilege's to work with passionate collaborators from several departments and across all levels of the organization - How do we improve access at our practices? Would block schedule changes meaningfully improve bed availability? More recently, how many people can we vaccinate in a day? Some questions need simulation models, some are better served with mathematical or statistical models, many can be tackled by presenting the right data, informed by context, to the people closest to the process. In addition to projects like those, my work has also involved in equal parts assisting our frontline teams with their improvement initiatives via our Lean Daily Management System as well as partnering with our Academic partners on mutually beneficial projects. I learnt the methods in school, but my time at MaineHealth have taught me to listen, deliberate, and then act. And there's always more to learn, which is why I go to work everyday!
