About Moira Oneill

Moira O’Neill is a North Carolina native who spent several years in Tucson, Arizona before settling in Atlanta. During her time at Guilford College, where she worked at an on-campus farm and market, Moira became deeply committed to food justice initiatives. At Guilford, she lead the development of a mobile market that distributed free produce to food insecure communities, while also helping to develop a new major in Sustainable Food Systems. She is proud to say that both of these programs exist six years later! In Tucson, as Community Foods Coordinator for the Community Food Bank of Southern Arizona, Moira led a cooperative for backyard gardeners and small farmers. She loves farmers’ markets and cares deeply about creating inclusive, welcoming spaces for everyone. Moira believes that access to fresh, healthy food is a human right, and she is very excited to be back home in the South working in support of local food systems.
