A disruptive brand conquering a traditionally formulaic market, Rawside’s furniture supports the workplace with smart design, connecting high-function with super-tough durability. With a motto of ‘made with soul’, the company culture is centred around enriching environments, brought to life by a contented and connected team, a workforce fully invested in the business and its values. Founded in 2014 by Richard Gann and Liz Close, with backgrounds in interiors, Rawside was born from the couple’s shared desire to design and make furniture that flipped the lid on the standard commercial offering. From the beginning, Rawside has been dedicated to generating as minimal negative environmental impact as possible - using sustainably sourced materials, designing furniture built to last, manufacturing in the UK, and creating minimal waste in the process. London born and bred, Rawside has now outgrown their original Brixton base, with the team opening the doors to their new environmentally-friendly workshop on the edge of South Downs National Park in Hampshire, heralding a new chapter for the business. With a steady and organic growth from inception,(Rawside has invested in new sq. ft purpose-built workshop and warehouse spaces in Ropley, Hampshire, a two-year process in the design and build. Dubbed ‘the Soul & Country building’, the new facilities offer increased production capabilities, shorter lead times for clients, and are more environmentally sustainable. With the business heritage firmly rooted in South London, the brands’ expansion to the country is a positive team move, with most of the craft team relocating to the new location. Manufacturing and warehouse teams now being based in Hampshire, whilst Sales and Marketing along with the showroom remain in London, with Rawside dedicated to always having a presence in the capital. A mature brand with a cool edge, having created a foothold in the commercial furniture market Rawside continue to develop new products in response to the needs of their customers and the dynamic workplace world – products that always stay true to their environmental values.
