About Molly Elder

My communication journey began when I enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. I started as a broadcast journalist and learned other disciplines by supervising broadcasters and photojournalists. I gained experience in community outreach, media relations, and public information during my military career.I have a Master of Science in Strategic Communication from the University of Purdue. The program focused on corporate communication, research methods, strategic writing, global public relations, ethics and leadership, and social media communication.I recently served as the Digital Communications Manager at Iowa Workforce Development. When I started this position, I helped rebuild the communications team and introduce video capabilities for the agency. I managed print and multimedia production, website content, email marketing, and social media content across multiple platforms.I am currently the Communications Specialist for the City of Clive. I specialize in communication planning and content creation to support the City and its departments. Specialties: Communication planning, Radio/TV news production, copy editing, digital storytelling, crisis communication, website management, graphic design, press releases, supervision and training, and social media management.
