About Molly Gemmel

Joining Allianz as a Graduate, I was fortunate to work on Systems Thinking in the Customer Care Operations Team at PetPlan, as Assistant Underwriter in the Motor Fleet Team in Chelmsford and then London Market Real Estate (LMRE) Team, underwriting Property Owners portfolios and working with my panel of Brokers and lastly, the Broker Distribution Management (BDM) team. I then rejoined the LMRE team on a permanent role. Alongside my roles in the LMRE and BDM teams, I worked in project teams progressing the market-led McGill and Partners Reinsurance Facility for high fire-risk/cladded multi-occupancy residential risks, and Allianz’ response to the FCA Reports, DLUHC papers and amended regulations on multi-occupancy buildings insurance (MOBI). This included our remuneration strategy across Mid-Market and Digital products involving Leaseholders and producing new transparent leaseholder disclosure documentation. For this work I was a Finalist of the ‘Young Achiever of the Year Award’ at the British Insurance Awards 2024 and Highly Commended Finalist of the ‘Young Underwriter of the Year Award’ at the London Market Forums Market People Awards 2024. Outside of my roles, I have completed my Cert CII and am working on my Dip CII and ACII qualifications. I was part of a Graduate fundraising team climbing Snowdon for Mind Charity, a Project researching where Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Automation could help processes in LV= Broker, presented Careers Talks in Schools, represented Allianz at a Women in Insurance conference, been selected for the Fireside Chat and Spotlight On Committee organising monthly talks with Senior Management or discussing new initiatives, and selected for The Graduate Committee, firstly as the Communications Rep producing monthly newsletters and day-in-the-life job videos, then Events Rep organising quarterly webinars and in-person events with Senior Executives and lastly Vice Chair and Chair.
