I am a design professional who has recently completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Design from the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to this educational venture, I spent ten years as an independent branding, graphic, and web designer for a diverse family of clients in South Texas, after working as a production designer for print and signage vendors. I have a passion for cultivating moving experiences through visual storytelling that is supported by a strong foundation of industry experience and comprehensive design education.Technically, I have expert proficiency in the Adobe Suite and experience working with motion design and digital prototyping tools. I have completed courses in interaction design, design research, and UX principles. I am fluent in HTML & CSS and have designed many websites and other digital solutions. I am capable of designing for print, screen, and three-dimensional environments. Although I have focused professionally on graphic and web design up to this point, I explore spacial and interior design in my personal practice and am very interested in the ways in which our digital and physical lives intersect.What sets me apart is my ability to effectively communicate and build rapport with diverse stakeholders. I am a skilled verbal communicator, adept at conveying ideas to non-designers and navigating professional interpersonal relationships. I have consistently received commendations from professors for my exceptional writing abilities. Previous co-workers and supervisors have praised me for being approachable and collaborative. While I am a self-starter, I enjoy working in a team environment and value the power of collective creativity. As a designer, I thrive in the idea generation phase. I am curious about technology, culture, and history, and I offer a deep well of references to draw from. My design choices are often informed by a love for fashion, humor, art, and nature, balanced by a commitment to clarity, restraint, and practicality. I believe that a career in design allows me to participate in creating a healthier, more equitable and positive world.
