Words have always been fascinating to me—word puzzles, etymology, dialects, slang, even just reading the dictionary. Not surprisingly, this weird obsession led me to a top journalism school where I enjoyed news ed and broadcasting before finding my home in the advertising sequence. Turns out, I thrive when the writing is inherently creative, but also grounded in a goal or strategy. Today, I find I really like helping organizations define their voice and their relevancy. It could be as simple as creating a product or service description for a web site, or as complicated as whittling away the layers of research and marketing strategy to land on the right tag line. Finding the most compelling way to communicate a brand’s essence keeps my soul humming. For almost 20 years, I’ve worked as a copywriter in both agency and consulting environments. I began my career at Cactus Communications working on accounts like Grease Monkey, The Denver Center Theater Company and The Children’s Hospital. At Pierson Hawkins, Inc, I helped create multimedia campaigns for Norwest Banks of Montana and Wyoming, Beau Jo’s Pizza and the Bonfils Blood Center. As a freelancer, I worked with my own clients (Dig Deep, Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, LiveWell Colorado) and the senior team at Peri Marketing & Public Relations (Denver Public Health, Dumb Friends League, Estes Park Health, Easter Seals). Now, I lead the content creation charge at RemoteLock, a Denver-based SaS company and leading provider of universal access control.
