About Momo Spaine

Production professional with 12+ years of experience in fast-paced, multi-project, creative environments in Nigeria and abroad. Wide-ranging knowledge of Film, TV programming, and digital content creation from development to distribution. I am in the process of launching my production company, Blush + Slate Films. My career in film started when I produced my first project, an unaired pilot for the TV series, “Before 30” in 2013. I went on to produce the first season of Before 30 in 2015, the success of which led to her promotion to Head of Productions and subsequently partner at Nemsia Films. In 2017, I produced BAM-Nemsia’s Action-Comedy Banana Island Ghost, following this with freelance work in various roles on films like Isoken (2016) and Makate Must Sell (2017). In 2018, having spent nearly 7 years in the film industry as a producer, I attended the Toronto Film School to expand my skills in the more technical aspects of filmmaking. My goal, to get behind the camera as a Director. While at film school in Canada, I continued to serve Nemsia as a producer, remotely working on their 2018 release, God Calling. Since completing film school in 2019, I have continued to work in content creation full-time, directing short-form commercial content for my clients in Toronto. I continue to consult as a producer on Nollywood projects such as The Wait (2021) and remain part of the growing Nigerian film industry. Most recently, I was tapped by Nemsia Films to direct a feature film sequel to Before 30, taking on the roles of Writer, and Director. As Communications Manager at JLD, I managed and created original content for 7 social media platforms. I also produced, filmed and edited videos of high-end real estate and the day-to-day activities of the CEO, a well-known TV personality and Interior Design expert. I combined my passion for Interior Design with my technical filmmaking skills in this role. I also brought to bear my 12+ years of experience as a Film and TV producer in the Nigerian "Nollywood" film industry. My breadth of experience has honed my creative eye and I strive to communicate these intersections in my work. I am persistently seeking opportunities to express my artistry.
