About Mona Mehra

I am a thought leader in the area of home and family empowerment. My aim is to empower families in homes so that we create stronger foundations for living. Families are made of parents, children, elders, in-laws, ailing and non-ailing members. My endeavour is to empower each voice in a home, because when every voice matters, families become happier and stronger. Alongside this, I work to bring respect and recognition to unpaid work and the role of homemakers. With a degree in Home Science and over a decade in risk management, I have spent the last 10+ years bridging organizational strategy with family life—bringing leadership, emotional intelligence, and dignity into the heart of the home. I’ve contributed to global platforms, including: UN NGO CSW side event: Empowering Homes – Inclusion of Unpaid Work in GDP Calculation UN Civil Society Conference UN High-Level Political Forum My workshop Home & Heart: Rethinking Relationships explores gender dynamics and the impact of unpaid work on couple relationships. It is now available on Udemy: I also initiated India’s first awards honoring homemakers—men and women—who challenge stereotypes and redefine homemaking as a skilled, vital role: 1st edition: Oct 8, 2023 – Noida 2nd edition: Apr 28, 2024 – Gandhi Peace Foundation, Delhi Along with this work, I coach children aged 5–15 build confidence, clarity, and emotional expression—on stage and on paper. Through engaging public speaking and creative writing programs, I guide young learners to discover their voice, connect with their imagination, and grow as empathetic communicators. My approach blends storytelling, emotional intelligence, and playful learning to nurture future leaders who speak with heart and write with purpose. Whether it’s helping a shy child deliver their first speech or inspiring a budding writer to craft their own story, my work celebrates effort, creativity, and individuality. I had to learn public speaking myself in order to take a different perspective forward. With a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) and my experience as President of the Speak to Change Foundation, I truly believe that teaching children through fun and play is the best way to help them learn and shine.
