About Mona Mohamed

I graduated in 2015 with a BSc in Chemistry from Aston University, and afterwards ventured into teaching. I then chose to pursue my interest in sustainability and the environment, and completed a MSc in Water and Environmental Management in 2019. This postgraduate degree has reinforced my passion for the well-being of the environment, and how economic, environmental and social issues affect progress towards sustainable development. After completing my course, I wanted the opportunity to live abroad for a year as I didn't know if I would ever get the chance to do so. I therefore planned to live in South Korea and work as an English Teacher for a year in 2019. Due to the pandemic, I favoured stability rather than returning to the U.K so I therefore chose to stay in South Korea for another 3 years, until the social distancing regulations ended. I returned to the U.K in April 2023 and I have been working as a Hub Advisor for POhWER Advocacy since August 2023. I would like to pursue a career in sustainability and Environmental Management, as since graduation, I haven't been able to pursue roles in this sector. I have good interpersonal skills and have proven that I can work in a team through activities such as group environmental audits, as well as working independently. I adapt well to new situations, as demonstrated by my four years of living in a new country. I have good writing and communication skills, and I am also confident in my researching skills. I am also open to hybrid/remote work.
