About Mona Perlingeiro

I am a professional with a passion for international migration, education, culture, and youth. I'm a professional with over 10 years of experience in human development and education for youth, migrants, refugees, and people in situations of social vulnerability. Social scientist graduated from UNIFESP (2017), with research on nonviolent popular resistance in Area C of the West Bank, currently conducting research on the environmental refuge and climate change, with a specialization in Globalization, Power and Society at FESPSP (2022). Researcher at the Migration Observatory (NEPO-UNICAMP) since 2018, with research development for UNHCR, elaboration of didactic materials for Centro Paula Souza and acting in partnership with other organizations promoting migratory rights, such as Mission Peace. Experience as a consultant expert in migrations by Viração Educomunicação working in partnership with UNICEF, UNHCR and IOM for the development of the digital tool "U-Report Uniendo Voces", bridging with the Venezuelan population in Roraima to mobilize migrants and refugees in a network of truthful and reliable information about migratory rights in Brazil (2021 - 2022). Lectured to US students at Harvard University, David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies and the School for International Studies at Columbia, Yale and Berkeley about the myth of racial democracy and ethnic-racial relations in Brazil (2017 - 2020). I taught courses on culture and art in the Middle East (MIS, 2020). I conducted training for curators of the Tomie Ohtake Institute on the Arab world, for the exhibition "Taswir, contemporary Arab photography"(2019) and for MIS staff for the exhibition "Farida, um Conto Sírio - Maio Fotografia" by Brazilian photographer Mauricio Lima (2018). I lectured on refuge and migration for the Penha Regional Board of Education, at SESC, Senac Itaquera and Cursinho Mafalda in 2017. Since 2011 I work professionally as an educator in visual arts, human rights, gender equality and ethnic-racial relations. I have worked in exhibitions of artists such as Candido Portinari, Sebastião Salgado, Isaac Julien, Frida Kahlo, Joan Miro, and Tim Burton.
