Mongi’s career is an autodidactic galaxy of skills that orbit around narrative and image. The focal point of his abilities is directing, with writing as its natural polar opposite along with choreography, performance, and researching as necessary support skills. Mongi’s experience ranges from working as a member of the story development team in television projects like Inkaba and The Single Guys, to writing, performing and directing large live events such as Skullkandy for the Market Theatre (2021), and TREE for the Manchester International Festival (2019). Spectacle is pervasive in text, image, stage and screen. A writer/director needs to have practical knowledge of how the concept will be translated into reality. Mongi loves narrative that is driven by the visual content. A precocious creator of narratives understands that in live action, film and corporate, we may begin with the words, but ultimately, we finish with a striking image.
