About Monica Belyea

As a Public Health consultant for over twenty years, I have been working with nonprofit organizations to improve the health and well-being of individuals and communities. My passion, what I help create, are systems and policy level changes with a grounding in racial equity and justice, that lead to physical and emotional wellness. At my heart I am a dedicated Public Health Nutritionist, and my deepest content expertise is with food and nutrition systems and maternal and child health. Over the years I have also deepened my expertise early childhood systems and the intersectionality between physical wellness and social/emotional wellness. I use my public health training and expertise to support whole person – whole family – whole community approaches to wellbeing. My work is wide ranging, from academic and community-based research to community collaboration and direct family support. I provide all aspects of program planning and management including developing strategic partnerships, grant writing and reporting, effective/efficient meeting facilitation, and especially centering the voices and experiences of the constituents of any given program. I have presented at numerous local, state and national professional meetings and provided hundreds of community and train-the-trainer workshops. I’m passionate about increasing access and building opportunity for people to grow and thrive through collective impact collaboration and the power of working together across sectors to achieve large impacts with few resources. I bring my whole self to project management and collaboration especially my deep commitment to promoting anti-racism.
