About Monica Fromberger

Masters of Environmental and Life Sciences obtained while studying species at risk nest survival; performed data entry and analysis tasks using Microsoft Access, Excel, ArcGIS and R software. Proven project management skills demonstrated during the completion of a master’s thesis project and through the management of the Piping Plover Recovery Program for three successful seasons. Seven years’ experience as a field biologist working in grasslands, forests, beaches, and remote sub-arctic tundra with various species at risk including Bobolink, Eastern Meadowlark, and Piping Plover. Excellent verbal and written communication skills applied while delivering guest lectures, nature programs, conference presentations, and while composing technical reports, scientific journal articles, grant proposals. Extensive knowledge and technical experience gained while conducting bird, vegetation, species at risk, and frog surveys as well as habitat assessments; working outdoors for extended periods in various weather. Proven ability to work collaboratively and maintain positive relationships with supervisors, project partners, co-workers, staff and private landowners. Possess a valid Ontario Class ‘G’ Driver’s License, Ecological Land Classification certification, Ontario Pesticide Exterminator License (Landscape), ORCKA Basic Canoe (Level 3) certification, RX100 Low Complexity Prescribed Burn Worker certification, and Possession and Acquisition license (PAL).
