About Monica McDade

Human Resources is about more than just the numbers, it's about the human. I am an eager and motivated human resources candidate, seeking a position that will allow me to utilize my professional and educational background in human resources. Having developed a large interest in women's health, I feel my skills and abilities can best be used to make a difference within a healthcare setting. During my time at UW-Milwaukee, deciding on the best degree option for me came easy. I knew I wanted to be a part of something that could create a big impact on the lives of others. Pursuing a Bachelor's in Human Resources has allowed me to, not only better understand the process of recruiting, onboarding, and interviewing, but its also allowed me to be better able to get to know the individuals we're hiring, and to discuss and understand their needs when it comes to the company. I was able to understand this through being a part of the Society of Human Resources Management at UWM, and throughout my time at ManpowerGroup being a part of the Human Resources team. Healthcare is about more than just health, it's about the care. Working as a Certified Pharmacy Technician has allowed me to learn more about the medications being given to patients. I have been able to speak with physicians, insurance companies, and work with pharmacists to ensure the medications are being handled properly, and to ensure the patients are taking them correctly. This experience has furthered my interest in the world of healthcare. My interest initially developed due to being an African American woman. Not only do women of color have to deal with the social inequalities that continue to arise, but also the disparities continuing to be shown within healthcare and I want to be a part of the change.
