About Monica Valentin

How can I help? A question at the center of everything that I do every day. My work with nonprofits has been the most significant part of this journey for me lately, but starting out, it came out of a natural curiosity about how I can make people's lives easier day-to-day. My academic carrier gave me the foundation and breadth of a human-focused approach. Then working in my own backyard gave me an understanding of what my community needs most. These two things, in combination, finally led me to the mission-driven work of non-profits. A curious puzzle lover, operations and development seemed a great fit. Whether navigating the vector maze of salesforce implementation to the jigsaw of major mailings and events, the approach is the same: pay attention to the small things, breaking them down and tackling them piece by piece until we're done and left with something beautiful at the end. This combination of a human-focused approach combined with my natural inclination to love a challenge make me the go-to person when it comes to getting things done, creating systems that take everyone’s needs into account, or just breaking down challenges and figuring things out as a team. When I’m not working, you can find me learning the puzzle that is homemade espresso.
