With over 10 years of experience in international business, logistics, and foreign trade, I am a passionate and driven leader who strives to deliver excellence and innovation in the mining industry. As the Team Leader of Logistics and Foreign Trade at Newmont Corporation, one of the world's leading gold producers, I oversee the coordination and optimization of the supply chain, transportation, and customs operations for the Peñasquito mine in Mexico. I am committed to creating value for the company, the stakeholders, and the communities, by applying my skills in manufacturing process improvement, purchasing, and SAP products, and by leveraging my certification in Excel Avanzado + Power BI. In my last role, I have successfully managed multiple projects, one of them is the transition of our freight forwarder DHL as Leader responsible for the implementation, and continuous improvement of the Lead Logistics Supplier (LLP) service at Penasquito, as part of the Regional Roadmap for Transportation and Logistics, executing Newmont’s transportation and logistics strategy, policies, and guidelines to drive shared goals and objectives across the entire Supply Chain, with a specific focus on logistics activities. Lead and oversees all aspects of regional modal and transportation planning activities, ensuring compliance with regional government regulations and Newmont procedures and policies. Improving Newmont’s overall logistics and transportation management capability through continuous improvement and organizational development is a priority. Accountable for setting and meet the targets, metrics, and key performance indicators for the national logistics and foreign trade at Newmont Penasquito. Ensures that all logistics and transport providers comply with safety requirements, promoting the company’s safety culture. This includes training assigned staff, promptly reviewing unsafe events, and achieving 100% compliance with all Newmont and governmental regulations. Additionally, I collaborated as Chief of Staff with the General Management and the Corporate office to provide support and analysis on key performance indicators, operational management systems, and special projects.
