About Monique Burns

In May 2019, I relocated to Pensacola to challenge myself and get out of my comfort zone. After growing up in Ohio and offering up the entirety of my early twenties to the Cincinnati workforce (“Who Dey”), I craved a fresh start and was adamant about finding new ways to grow. I packed my bags and set out to make new friends, learn new skills, and create new passions! Since arriving in the Home of the Blue Angels, I have dove into a new career path, so I believe moving was the right step. This past year working in systems has taught me so much. I’ve improved in project management by wearing many hats within the company and still getting everything complete. Another big thing was learning the importance of research, and I’ve mastered the skill of patience. Information Technology has been such a challenge for me to take on, but throughout it, I have grown into an even more well-rounded employee. When asked, I best describe myself as hungry and resilient. The more challenging the task, the more I gain to learn from the experience. In 10 years, I’ve learned to lead a team, lead myself, adapt to change, move faster, slow down, and research, research, research. After you look over my career, you will see that I am just that. I am willing to learn and grow in any field. I hope to continue to learn all parts of a business.
