About Monique George

I enjoy solving problems. For me, it's all about unearthing solutions and matching those with technologies to provide effective service delivery, consistent with current industry standards and policies. I focus on raising the awareness of Information Technology by providing strategic value such that IT personnel are involved in all stages of the student or project life cycle as Information Technology has evolved into a strategic asset and is no longer deemed simply a tool. I create cohesive cross-functional IT teams, which are guided by an effective IT Strategic Plan which is in line with the vision and mission of the academic organisation and propels team members to excel continuously and to exceed expectations. I possess hands on experience in leading all stages of student life cycle within a higher education environment. Core Competencies: • IT strategy • IT Management • Service delivery • IT Security • Integration • Vendor Management • Procurement and Budgeting • High performance cross-functional team leadership • Business process improvement • Enterprise Systems Administration • Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) • Procedures and Policy development Outside the office, I enjoy dancing, swimming, hiking, travelling and meditation. I am fluent in Spanish with functional French competency (could certainly do the opportunity to brush up here). I have a passion for discussing issues surrounding various aspects of higher education and exploring how technology can be used to bridge this gap. If you want to know how I can affect change, be it on your project/consultancy or more effectively, leading your technology team, do contact me.
