About Monique Thoonsen

We share information and strategies about sensory processing so that people can learn more easily and have more fun, using simple strategies. Too little account is taken of the influence of sensory processing on living and learning. We are changing that. We guide children, parents, teachers and other professionals who deal with wiggling and fidgeting behavior because of experiencing too little or too much sensory input. At home, at school, at work, at daycare or residential group. The result is difficult behavior, not feeling well and not being able to do your task. We explain how this may be due to sensory processing that is not running smoothly. And we have many practical solutions for this problem. Children and adults unconsciously avoid or seek sensory input, sometimes with behavior that can be quite disruptive. But because of that behavior they receive (or avoid) sensory input, which is necessary to feel good. It is important to know that some people can be under- or overresponsive. This has a great influence on living and learning. You need all your senses to learn. And it's also great fun to use them all in everyday life. By only listening and watching, you miss opportunities. Information is processed easier by using all senses. When you hear an explanation about sensory processing, you'll immediately see that this knowledge is very useful and practical. The enthusiasm of the people we share this with is contagious and works wonderfully motivating for us. There is apparently a great need for knowledge about sensory processing and we are happy to provide it. We do this in an easy to understand, accessible way. The tips & strategies we share are immediately applicable the next day.
