About Monisha Logan

Motivated by social activism, I aspire to help create impactful change within the field of social policy work. As a recent M.A. graduate, I have developed both my qualitative and quantitative research skills through my own work that looked at the relationship between police violence, race, and affect. I am continuing to expand on these skills by pursuing a PhD in Legal Studies at Carleton University. My overall outlook for my work and aspirations have been inspired by my professional and academic career, as well as my own personal experiences. Throughout my life, I have been able to encounter and work with a multitude of diverse individuals and local social activists. All of these moments have provided me with a perspective that is centred around creating empathetic, ethical, and mindful change within an equitable working environment. Having spent some time in academia, my passion for research has grown tremendously! I continue to foster my curiosity and inquisitive nature by challenging myself to unpack social problems and attempt to find ways to resolve complex issues. With that being said, I hope to continue developing these skills in the future within a fast-paced and diverse professional environment, where engagement with others is possible.
