I lead the BBC’s suite of broadcast critical gallery and studio automation solutions, developing and executing the roadmap for live production automation at the BBC, and setting the direction of travel for future production models mapped to corporate goals and strategy. I lead the team responsible for safe broadcast from the biggest automated live TV control tech estate in the world, ensuring safe transmission from 50+ BBC studios using systems such as Viz Mosart, Ross Overdrive, CuePilot, BigTed and BBC Sofie. I am accountable for over 150 hours of live BBC content daily via these systems, and for providing solutions which cater to of BBC editorial users, with figures growing month on month. I’ve got a strong track record in AI innovation. Last year I led an AI integration workstream on an IBC Accelerator, winning Project of the Year—and this year I’m co-leading another accelerator, building agentic systems for live TV production. I have led the tech delivery on every major BBC project since 2011 as well as projects for broadcasters around the globe, transforming content production models across the industry. Throughout my career, I’ve also directed and vision mixed some of the most iconic moments in modern television history. This work has allowed me to work in live TV of every genre, and it has given me a deep understanding of a breadth of genres, production workflows and TV cultures, as well as fantastic insight into how a wide range of UK and global broadcasters operate.
